Carola's Capoeira Classes: CaCaCa!
Capoeria just GOT me. That's how it works.
When I was in Brazil, I've encountered Omri Ferradura Breda - Master of Capoeira and Teacher in Rio de Janeiro. He started lots of educational projects, and I was lucky to follow his Online Course about Capoeira Educativo Infantil. This project stole my heart: teach the cultural Brazilian values, with that ultimate Brazil-cultural exploration and varieties in living being and moving: Capoeira.
After my stay in Brazil, 2013/2014, I've found a wonderful teacher in The Hague: Vita. Arnold Baldé has this incredible style he calls Kapûh Flow, where he molds and manipulates energy into the mosty smooth moves you can imagine. I've trained with him for a couple of years and learned the basics and a bit more, of this beautiful expressional language of the Soul: capoeira. Then I've trained with Professor Dinho, from the capoeira school Berimbao de Ouro. there I've learned to move and use with the regional style, before it was more freestyle and Angola.
After a little gap, I took on for Capoeira again in Singapore. I was lucky to find the vibrant and amazing school Açao Quilombo Capoeira, or @Cap[oeiraKidsRock. There I've trained with the beautiful, highly skilled and incredible Mighty May Ooi - former MMA World champion...Tocador, the professional musician, singer and capoeista helped me to improve also with my musical capoeria skills and "after Covid" - I've entered the Instructor program. I've been teaching capoeira since, on several locations, occasions and workshops. And: now I am ready to start in The Hague with my lessons!
From september 2024 I will offer:
Parent & Child Class - playful encounters with your child. Ultimate bonding and parent and child time. You will learn the basics, and you will communicate with your child to play and engage in a loving and caring setting where we use the Capoeira music, tools and moves to have a wonderful time. Level up the physical, emotional and mindful growth of your child.
Duration: 45 minutes / week
Costs: 35 euros a session for both parent and child
Capoeira Infantil: 3-5 years old - structured and well organised, this class runs with always a warm-up, defence, kick and acro. These 3 basic elements are the foundation for a lovely, playful and engaged lesson for our youngest player. We finish the class with music. No parents in the room!
Duration: 45 minutes / week
Costs 25 euros a session per child
Capoeira Kids: 6-12 years old - in this kids classes, the structure of warm up, using kicks and defences and learning the acro's to play capoeira, are the basics. And then there is so much more.
How to cope with failure? What is resilience? How can you improve every time you come to class? What is the way to deal with disappointment? We learn with and from the martial art elements to build op strong character. We will gain mental strength and this 'Warrior' skillset helps to develop a strong, healthy and cultural embedded mindset. Get ready to conquer the world and embrace the challenges it has to offer! Especially to our young humans.
Duration: 60 minutes / week
Costs 30 euros a session per child
Warrior Training: 13 - 18 years old - In these lessons I combine elements from Capoeira, Coaching and Energywork. Every set of 4 lessons will be built around a theme. Think of: How to cope with failure? What is resilience? How to deal with disappointment? We learn with and from the martial art elements to build op strong character. We will gain mental strength by learning how to coach ourselves and in training our mindset. This 'Warrior' skillset helps to develop a strong, healthy and cultural embedded mindset. And that is what we need, especially when you are young!
